Description:

A French scale developed at the beginning of the 1990s which evaluates pain in elderly patients. It was later translated into different languages.

The scale was designed to be used by a multidisciplinary team. It is constituted of 3 domains corresponding to the somatic (5items), psychomotor (2 items) and psychosocial (3 items) repercussions of the pain.

The evaluator rates each item on a scale of 0 to 3.

The scale takes about 5 minutes to administer.

A group of experts supervises the improvement, validation and translation into other languages of the scale.

There are few articles in scientific databases such as PubMed®. Information can be found on the website: http://www.doloplus.com
